We catch up with Joe Ellis to see how he has been getting on in his new role as Head of Franchise Support.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your involvement with the industry.
I started my career in estate agency almost 10 years ago in West London. I was a Junior Negotiator and worked my way up to Senior, meaning I mainly dealt with premium properties and corporate re-locations. I then helped open up a brand new office in Central London dealing with a new territory before being given the opportunity of moving to North West London two years later to open up another new office and operate in another new territory.
What attracted you to Belvoir and this job role?
Being from Lincolnshire I have known of Belvoir for years. I have always been a fan of the brand and what excited me most about the company is its ambition and expansion plans for the future.
Give us some insight into your job role and your involvement with franchisees?
As Head of Franchise Support I look after the team of BDM’s, Admin and Training within Central Office. Our main objective is to assist with the growth and development of franchisees businesses and offer help, support and advice with all aspects of estate agency.
How have you found the last few months since joining Belvoir?
It’s been great. Everyone has been really welcoming and I’m learning something new every day. I’ve tried to get around as many offices and attend as many of the BNG’s as I can.
What is your main focus for the up and coming months?
The Tenant Fees Ban is a real focus for the BDM’s right now. We’re getting ahead of the curve as early as possible and helping to find solutions for our franchisees to mitigate some of the potential losses they may face when the ban comes into force next year.
