Major Mahil, with his wife Bal, launched Belvoir Birmingham Central in May 2007. A year later they won Belvoir’s New Franchise of the Year and in 2009 won the Belvoir Customer Service Gold Award. In 2010 the couple opened a second franchise in Erdington. “Running an open, transparent and customer-focused business has helped to bring in more clients and we pride ourselves on customer service,” says Major. “The Belvoir brand is so big and well-established that we are looking forward to a very successful future.”
Buy to let - the future of lettings
With lending volumes increasing by 22% during 2010, 32% of landlords increasing their rental yields in the first quarter of 2011 alone and the Council for Mortgage Lenders correctly predicted strong rental demand to remain throughout 2011, the Buy-to-Let market is still looking very healthy for new investors. Terry Lucking from Belvoir Peterborough tells you how Buy to Let has enabled him to have a combined turnover of £960,000 per year, mostly driven by giving great buy to let advice.
The Buy-to-Let market is very fertile ground at the moment with tight mortgage lending criteria, an increasingly mobile labour market and financial uncertainty forcing more consumers to rent, rather than buy, more than any other time over the past 5 years. Despite this ‘golden’ opportunity, we believe that many prospective Buy-to-Let investors are being put off by complex legislation and fear of legal action.
Recognising this problem, in our three week induction course, we train all of our franchise owners to actively guide potential investors through the legal minefield, provide expert advice and develop their confidence as landlords. Our training course on Buy to Let will teach you everything you need to know to be the local Buy to Let expert.
The Belvoir Landlord Newsletter, which you can personalise to your own market if you wish, gives you a fabulous tool to get in front of those buy to let landlords, start discussions and build relationships to get those properties onto your books
